The flightless bird of Mauritius

So this one was a gamble. Seriously, I didn’t really like the way it looked. I already appreciated the virtues of a curved blade (ala cricket), and G10 handles are my favorite. Dodo is an apt name.

Strange bird. Possibility of extinction. But here’s the thing: this is yet another purpose built knife. The handle ergos are excellent. The blade is really tough. I have sawed through plastic, canvas, wood, cardboard, and this thing just takes it. No hot spots on my hands, either.

It really grew on me after the first 2 weeks.

The ball bearing lock takes a few minutes to get acclimated closing, but I quite like it now.

Just because

Some stuff pics. Just cuz I like ’em.

Everything you need, nothing you don’t

The SFO visit in July netted me the newest Military design. My new weekend carry. S30V steel, combination edge. Rumor has is the “A” in the etching does not have a crossbar because the design only has the essentials, no fluff.

G10 is my favorite handle material.

This plus the Dodo (more on that one to come) are about as close to perfection for a pair of folders.
